​The Mountain Mushroom Festival is an annual celebration held in Irvine, Kentucky, dedicated to honoring the region's rich Appalachian culture, with a special focus on the beloved morel mushroom and Kentucky agates. The 33rd festival is scheduled for April 26-27, 2025, in downtown Irvine.

Attendees can anticipate a variety of engaging activities and events throughout the weekend. The festival features the Fungus 5K and 2K races, which kick off on Saturday morning. Mushroom enthusiasts can participate in hunting contests, cooking demonstrations, and a cook-off to showcase their culinary skills. The festival also hosts an agate, gem, and mineral show, highlighting the area's geological treasures.

Arts and crafts enthusiasts will enjoy vendor booths, demonstrations, and a student art show. Live performances, including music and clogging, will take place on the grandstand, providing entertainment for all ages. Additional attractions include a parade, car show, pancake breakfast, and various contests such as photography and cake decorating. ​

The 2025 festival theme, "Shrooming Around," features "Big Foot" on the official t-shirts, which will be available for purchase during the event. With its diverse offerings, the Mountain Mushroom Festival promises a weekend of fun, education, and community spirit, celebrating the unique heritage of Irvine and the surrounding region.
